CHALLENGE
comprises MSM sangams that have been established in the last five
years as registered societies. The main areas of operation include
Tanjore, Tirunelveli, Krishnagiri, Salem, Nagapattinam, Nagercoil,
Nammakal, Erode and Virudhunagar districts. In the above said areas, the MSM sangams operate as an independent body with five Volunteers from among their community serving as Directors. As mentioned earlier, these sangams have been registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Act. Their financial needs are met through the subscription fee paid by the members of the sangam on a monthly basis. These sangams also play the role of a drop-in centre for MSM. Some of these sangams have counselling centres of their own. In this initiative of theirs, the technical support is extended by South India AIDS Action Programme (SIAAP). |
